BCBS Flex Card Membership Transition

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama
has announced its
Medicare Advantage Flex Card Fitness Benefit
will end December 31, 2025

We recognize that this change will have a significant impact on our members, and it will also create a significant financial challenge for the YMCA.  While this decision comes directly from BCBS of Alabama, the YMCA of Greater Birmingham remains committed to keeping you active, connected, and part of your Y community.

To ease the transition, we are introducing a special Bridge Rate for current BCBS Flex Card participants effective January 1, for the duration of 2026. These rates reflect over a 20% discount off our market rates for Individuals and Couples:

• Individual: $49 per month 
• Couple: $68 per month
• No joining fee or interruption in your membership
• Additional Financial Assistance is available if needed – click the link for more information and complete the quick application process.

*At the conclusion of 2026, rates will return to Market Rates or qualified Financial Aid rates.
