Our YMCAs rely on the help of our volunteers to deliver the best experience for our youth in our Sports Youth Leagues. To provide the safest environment for our young players, our volunteer coaches undergo annual background screenings and other required trainings. Hit the court with the folks who invented the game – the Y! Our co-ed recreational basketball program is available for boys and girls ages 5 through age 12. Our leagues develop the fundamental basketball skills of dribbling, shooting and passing.
Every player is placed on a team and coached by a volunteer. There are no try-outs and every child plays.

Esports is a competitive sport through a video game requiring the use of strategy, collaboration, communication and problem solving skills to achieve individual or team success. And it’s bigger than ‘just gaming’. Esports allows for youth and teens who do not get involved in more traditional sports programs to be engaged through this outlet.
In our work with youth, teens and families, we listen and respond. As we navigate the ‘new normal’ in the midst of the pandemic, we recognize more fully that youth need to engage with us in different ways. The Y has been a leader in developing and implementing Youth Sports programs over the years that facilitate the learning of teamwork, health and wellness habits and self-discipline. With the addition and option of Esports, these opportunities continue, along with additional benefits:

Clinics are geared to help athletes develop sport-specific skills. YMCA trained staff and coaches lead players in drills and games designed to develop the fundamental skills required for the sport. Participants are sure to improve on skills, make new friends and have fun. A YMCA clinic is a great lead-up for participating in a class or league setting.

If you are looking for a way for your child ages 3-6 to try out new sports without the commitment to a team, our Tiny Tots-Introduction to Sports Skills program is for your child. Participants will learn good habits such as warming up, organization, teamwork, and an appreciation for the sport. Parent involvement is required for Tiny Tots 3-4 years old.

YMCA volleyball provides players the opportunity to learn the basics of volleyball in a safe and fun environment.
