Licensed Massage Therapist, Allison Crawford has over 7 years experience in the art of massage. Allison can do everything from sports massage to prenatal massage, neuromuscular therapy, therapeutic massage to deep tissue. Massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your health care regimen. The Vestavia Branch has one chlorine recreation pool, one wading pool, and two whirlpools. The recreation pool is 25 yards long, 6 lanes wide, has a depth range of 3.5 - 8.5 feet, and holds 110,000 gallons of water. In the off-season it is covered with an Air Dome purchased in 2017 allowing for year-round enjoyment. The wading pool has a depth of 1 foot on both sides and 2 feet in the middle. It is open in June and July at select times daily. The whirlpools are located in both the mens and womens locker rooms and are available year-round.
The Vestavia Branch offers a year round and summer swim team, masters swim team, as well as private and group swim lessons and lap swimming lanes. Please see the pool schedule below for lane space availability.

It is the goal of the Birmingham YMCA to make sure that everyone who participates in our aquatics programing is safe. These Swim test guidelines are one way to help ensure our goal is met. All swim tests are conducted by the certified lifeguard on duty.
The participant must jump into the deep end of the pool, tread water for 30 seconds and swim on top of the water approximately 25 yards without stopping or touching bottom/sides of pool.
If the participant passes the test, he or she will receive a green wristband and may swim free in the pool.
If the participant does not pass the test or does not want to take the test, he or she will receive a red wristband and will need to do one of the following: the participant must wear a life jacket; or if no life jacket is worn, an adult 18 or older must be in the pool with the participant no more than an arm's length away.
All participants under 14 must follow these guidelines.
Daniel Kamber heads the Masters program here at Vestavia YMCA. Daniel represented the USA as a member of the 2004 USA Paralympic Team. In addition to his responsibilities at the Vestavia YMCA, Daniel is also the head coach of the Lakeshore Foundation swim team.
Masters is for anyone who wants to improve their swimming abilities. Our goals are to have fun, improve our swimming technique, learn new skills, get faster & meet people who are like-minded. We welcome all ages and abilities to our program.
