Worried about “what if” schools change their plans? We have you covered! Wait List Registration for School Support Academy is now open through December. No financial commitment unless schools do close and you accept an available spot. Peace of mind knowing you have a safe place for your child.
School Support Academy is an in-person program supporting students who are e-learning through their school district until a fully in-school option is available.
School Support Academy is here to support your child’s virtual learning and keep them active and engaged during the day. The Y has created a fun, safe, controlled environment allowing your child to continue their educational journey with support. Our goal is to help your child stay on task, avoid, potential backsliding during their virtual learning, and encourage your child’s academic, physical, and mental health as they return to school.
Pick your days: Only choose the days that your child will need care.
Full day of care: Drop off begins as early as 7am and care is provided until 6pm.
Virtual learning and academic support: The Y will tailor each program to the school district it serves and supplement the school’s curriculum accordingly. WiFi will be available, and children will need to bring their own iPad/tablet/laptop and headphones to participate in virtual learning. YMCA staff will work to ensure that children complete assignments on time.
Engaging activities: The Y will also provide fun YMCA child care and camp style activities to ensure that children are having fun while learning, exploring and discovering skills, talents and potential.
Safety: The Y has implemented safety measures for child care programs and will follow those practices of daily screening before entry into the program, required face coverings, social distancing, personal hygiene and cleaning.
Students must arrive no later than 7:50am each day to participate.
Due to current Health Department regulations and DHR guidelines, we can only serve children currently enrolled in K-8th grade.
• Daily classroom time in accordance with school schedules
• Assistance and guidance to ensure assignments are completed on time
• Physical Education (where PE is NOT part of virtual school learning)
• Additional activities include: STEM, Arts & Crafts, Skill Development, Games
