3 DAY BUCKAROO CAMP 

Rising 1st and 2nd Grade (AGES 6 TO 7)

Buckaroo is for rising 1st and 2nd grade and is available at the beginning of each regular session. Buckaroos check-in is on Sunday at 3:00 pm and check-out is on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Once at Camp, Buckaroos have the option to extend and stay the whole week for an additional $350. Parents will receive an e-mail or phone call to notify them of their Buckaroo's desire to stay or check-out on Wednesday. Buckaroos that stay the whole week will check out on Saturday at 8:30 am.  

 

Regular Camp  

Rising 2nd - 10th Grade (AGES 7 TO 15)

Regular Camp is for rising 2nd to 10th-grade campers and they stay for a full week of camp. This is Camp Cosby's traditional camp experience in which campers enjoy many different activities, connect with their counselors and make deep, meaningful friendships. Camp tuition includes air-conditioned cabins, three meals and two snacks each day, caring, well-trained counselors, access to all age appropriate activities, camp t-shirt, cabin photo and store souvenirs. 

SPECIALTY CAMPS (rates listed below)

Rising 4th - 10th Grade (AGES 9 to 15)

Rising 4th to 10th-grade campers who meet the physical requirements can enhance their stay by registering for a Specialty Camp. For an additional fee, this is a great way to focus on skill development in some of Cosby’s favorite programs. Specialty Camps include Mini Bikes, Wakeboard/Waterski, Wrangler and Ceramics/Pottery. Specialty Camp campers bunk with campers their age and participate in all regular camp activities with a special emphasis on their chosen specialty. Half of their activity periods for the session will be reserved for their chosen Specialty Camp. 

Mini Bike Specialty Camp 
Includes all the fun of regular camp and reserves half of the daily activity periods for Mini Bike lessons, rides and practice.
 
 
 
Wakeboard/Waterski Specialty Camp 
Includes all the fun of regular camp and reserves half of the daily activity periods for Wakeboard and Waterski lessons, rides and practice.
 
 
 
Wrangler Specialty Camp 
Includes all the fun of regular camp and reserves half of the daily activity periods for horseback riding and horse care lessons, rides and practice.
 
 
 
Ceramics/Pottery Specialty Camp
Includes all the fun of regular camp and reserves half of the daily activity periods for these campers to learn the basics of pottery and ceramics.

LEADER IN TRAINING (LIT) 

Rising 10th Grader (AGE 15 by May 20th) 

2 Week Program
LIT Session 1 (Sessions 3-4)
LIT Session 2 (Sessions 7 and 8)
This is a leadership development program for returning and new campers. Campers will learn leadership, gain independence and make great memories. LITs get equal amounts of fun and learning through this teen-focused leadership program. LITs must apply, interview and provide a letter of recommendation.
 


COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT)

Rising 11TH Grader (AGE 16 by May 20th)

2 Week Program
CIT Session 1 (Sessions 1-2)
CIT Session 2 (Sessions 5-6)
This leadership development program for returning and new campers in which participants evaluate and improve their personal leadership style, learn how to work with children, learn to work with peers and get hands-on practice. CITs enjoy time together, participate in workshops, assist in leading activities and help                          with younger campers. CITs must apply, interview and provide two letters of recommendation. 
 
 

COSBY EXPEDITIONS  (See rates below)

Rising 7th - 11th Grades (Age 12 - 16)

Campers age 12 and older enjoy offsite trips in one-week and two-week sessions with our experienced well-trained Expedition Staff. All Cosby campers are encouraged to take the next step in independence by joining a Cosby Expedition. Cosby uses vetted and approved vendors on each of these trips for all high adventure activities. Gulf Coast Adventure 
 
 
Surf, paddle board and kayak the gulf coast of Alabama and Florida panhandle. 
 
 
Whitewater Rafting 
 
 
Raft with the Nantahala Outdoor Center on the Nolichucky, French Broad and Pigeon Rivers in North Carolina and Tennessee.
 
 
Great Lakes Adventure 
2-week trip
Explore the Upper Great Lakes region by sea kayaking on Lake Superior, whitewater the Menominee river rafting, swimming in the great lakes and hiking on Lake Michigan’s sand dunes.
*Must be 13 years or older
 
 
Advanced Whitewater Rafting 
 
Raft with the Nantahala Outdoor Center on the Nantahala, Ocoee, Chattooga Rivers in Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina.
*Must be 13 years or older 
 
 
Climb and Cave Adventures 
 
 
Climbing, rappelling, caving and exploring Little River Canyon National Preserve in Northeast Alabama.

THEME information

                                

Campers can enjoy their session even more by participating in the theme! Meals, campfire skits, and some evening programs will be focused around the theme and we invite all to join in on the fun. Items to bring can include costumes, coloring books, trinkets, stuffed animals, and props. Please do not send any items of value. The items sent will be used and potentially get messy. Bringing theme items is not mandatory. Our counselors also help create this fun environment with crafts, projects and face paint!

Cosby Add-Ons

  
Weekend Stayover - $120

Enjoy the weekend with us in smaller groups, doing activities only available during this time and re-energize for the next session. Stayover weekend is only for campers staying from one session to the next and is not offered as a stand-alone program.

CampInTouch Photo/E-Mail Service - $10
Purchased after camper is registered. Camp In Touch allows you to see photos that are uploaded each day and send e-mails to your Cosby Campers while they are at camp as a way of faster communication. 

Birthday Party - $60
On your camper's birthday, they will be honored with party hats for their whole cabin, festive tablecloth, a song from Cosby staff and a birthday cake at lunch. Celebrate the Cosby way! 

Cosby Gift Backpack - $50
This is a great gift for any camper! Campers are very excited to know some special is thinking about them and they love the Cosby SWAG! This package includes Cosby themed nylon backpack, water bottle, bandana, carabineer, bookmark, two Cosby friendship bracelets and two snacks.

Your longtime camper will love this Cosby Pro Care Package! Camp Cosby autograph pillowcase, Cosby Stickers, Cosby Lanyard to hold activity card, activity book, pens, snacks and a gift to share with their whole cabin.  

Hydration Pack - $30 
Our most popular store item is now available for pre-order! Order at the time of registration to assure your Cosby Camper gets their own Hydration Pack. Your Cosby camp will receive it on Monday morning of their session. 

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to attend sleepaway camp. Scholarships are available through YMCA Camp Cosby’s Annual Campaign. It is our goal to make camp financially accessible for all families. Through the commitment of our board members, volunteers, staff and families funds are raised each year and provided for qualifying families. Income, number of people in the household and extenuating circumstances are all considered.
