Capillaries are the smallest blood vessels in your body, but also the hardest working! They respond directly to parts of your body and supply the nutrients they need - they allow water, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other nutrient and waste substances to exchange between blood and surrounding tissues. And regular exercise can help these tiny vessels do their job. Your capillaries do for your heart what your outer body does every day.
