The Chaplaincy of the Birmingham YMCA

... offers an atmosphere of spiritual gratification in the YMCA where persons of every faith and religious heritage are welcome and where pastoral needs are met with energy, intelligence, imagination and love.

To enhance the well-being of YMCA members, volunteers and staff through spiritual outreach, educational enrichment and pastoral care, and to bring together the religious communities of Birmingham through leadership, encouragement and spiritual inclusiveness.

The Chaplain is available for:
  • Pastoral care for staff, members and volunteers
  • Devotionals, scripture studies and other spiritual activities
  • Religious education and spiritual events for the community
Chaplaincy Programs
  • Will provide spiritual enrichment and religious education
  • Will emphasize inter-faith and cross-cultural understanding
  • Will make available pastoral care and comfort to all members, stall and volunteers
  • Will benefit the YMCA community
A Program of Pastoral Care
The Chaplain is available to address a variety of pastoral needs that arise among staff, members and volunteers, such as family and employment matters, health and financial issues, conflict resolution, and other issues arising from our personal and professional lives.
