Health Coaching is about bridging the gap between where you are, and where you want to be. It’s where science meets psychology… or as we like to say, it's where we “train the mind and the body will follow.” Through a brief assessment, our trained health coaches help you evaluate your current health behaviors, identify behaviors you want to improve, set realistic goals and then show you how to measure your progress. Health Coaching begins with a goal setting session where you lay out your plan. Then your health coach will touch base with you periodically to assess your progress and keep you motivated. How can I earn Y Reward points?
You can participate in Pathways Health Coaching to discuss fitness, nutrition, stress, chaplain services, increasing energy, family fitness and nutrition, online tools and how to use the equipment.
You can also earn Y Rewards by participating in any of our quarterly promotions available online at YLifeRewards.com. There you can earn Rewards for:
- Completing a volunteer survey

Personal Training
One-on-One 1 hour $54 for 1-5 sessions (per session); $490 for 10 sessions; $705 for 15 sessions
One-on-One 30 minute $33 for 1-5 sessions (per session); $290 for 10 sessions; $420 for 15 sessions
Buddy 1 hour $70 for 1-5 sessions (per session); $650 for 10 sessions; $915 for 15 sessions
Group training Cost is $150 for a 10 week session punchcard

Terms: You may use your card to attend any of the classes on the small group training schedule. Classes are subject to change of time and/or instructor. If no one arrives 10 min after the class start time, the instructor can cancel the class. Class will proceed with one or more up to 6 participants. All classes are drop in and do not require a reservation. Pass expires 12 weeks after purchase date. Persons on the same membership can share a card. You may purchase a card at the front desk. The card will stay with the YMCA to be signed by the member & trainer each time you use it. Ages 12 & up may attend classes. Only ages 14 & up can attend without a parent.
Nutrition
Nutrition Coaching Available now! Make an appointment to get nutritional coaching by an experienced coach, Sharon Lamberth. She will give you meal ideas, shopping lists, behavioral modification tools (discussing emotional eating, late night snacking, and helping cope with getting up in the night and eating), special diets for IBS, diabetes, hypertension/low salt diet, diuretics, potassium rich foods, and planning for eating out and entertaining Prices same as personal training. $33 a session. Buy a personal training package and mix and match session with personal training and nutrition.

Ever confused about using the equipment in the gym? FREE group training on the equipment with a personal training during the mornings, evenings, and weekends. Call for an appointment now
Polar Fitness Evaluations
How old does your body say you are compared to your actual age?
Polar Evaluations - Come get a total fitness evaluation including cardiovascular testing, body fat testing, flexibility, body measurements, strength and endurance, and more! Cost is $45 for members; $70 for non members. Appointments required.
Diabetes Prevention

Weight Loss Program
The Vestavia branch will be offering an affordable, comprehensive weight loss program open to members and non-members. The weight loss program will feature weekly meetings which include a private weigh-in, access to an online weight loss tool with nutritional and physical activity tracking logs, health and physical activity assessments, customized diet and activity tips and information, and group personal training. With a focus on behavior change, group support and accountability, a YMCA personal trainer will leach each meeting and guide you on your way to accomplishing your goal of a healthier lifestyle...for life.
