American Red Cross CPR & Lifeguard Training

Lifeguard Training

This class will certify participants in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First-Aid, AED Essentials, and Oxygen Administration.  Participants must attend all classes; pass written exams, and a final water test.

Prerequisites
Candidates must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, using these strokes in the following order:

  • 100 yards of front crawl using rhythmic breathing with a propellant kick
  • 100 yards of breaststroke

  • 100 yards of front crawl and breaststroke or a combination of both
  • Timed Event:
    swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards with the object and your face out of the water back to the starting point with the object and exit within 1 minute 40 seconds

Cost
$220 includes books, fees, and supplies
$120 recertification (must show proof of CURRENT certification)
$70 non-refundable deposit due at time of registration
