GS Flag Football

The Fall 2012 Flag Football season To register is: July 16 and ends August 11.

Flag Football is among the fastest growing youth sports team at Greystone YMCA and a great place to teach the game to first-time players and sharpen skills for 'return- players'. Our league is offered both in the spring and fall each year and run for (8) weeks-all games are on Saturday mornings. Practice is one time (60 minutes) per week. Teams are small to encourage skill development and fill up fast prior to registration end dates. We are expanding our league this year; ages start at K-1st, 2-3rd, 4-5th, 6-7th and 8-9th grade- where available.

Coaches are volunteer parents  and are prepared with a comprehensive e-learning training course. Uniforms and medallions are included.

Safety First

YMCA Youth Sports programs in partnership with the CDC is conducting an educational initiative to help coaches and parents alike recognize and respond to concussions.  Coaches are mandated to take the Online Course and send in the certification. All parents of registered players are asked to read and sign the Concussion Awareness Form and return it to the coach prior to the first practice / game. Learning about the signs and steps to respond to head injuries, will allow everyone to play safe. Remember: If you think your athlete has sustained a concussion, take him/her out of play!.
