What a great season! Hurry back!
The Greystone youth basketball league is among the most sought after league known for its fair and spirited play. We play other area YMCA teams and registration is open to age/grade level (3yo -11th grade) members and non members alike. Teams practice one time each weekday evening and play officiated games on Saturdays for (8) weeks. Team rosters are kept small and fill up fast and oftentimes prior to registration end dates. We do not allow players currently in other basketball leagues, to enroll.
Coaches are volunteer parents or players from local area schools and are required to complete e-learning training course and review Training Plans (see below links). All players get equal minutes!Coaches have play-books where every kid gets a shot at scoring a basket. Uniformed jerseys and shorts are provided and medallions are included in the fee.
Safety First!
YMCA Youth Sports programs in partnership with the CDC is conducting an educational initiative to help coaches and parents alike recognize and respond to concussions. Coaches are mandated to take the Online Course and all parents of registered players are asked to read and sign the Concussion Awareness Form and return it to the coach prior to the first practice / game. Learning about the signs and steps to respond to head injuries, will allow everyone to play safe. Remember: If you think your athlete has sustained a concussion, take him/her out of play!.
