The YMCA strives to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We emphasize teamwork, good sportsmanship, self esteem and a respect for one another. YMCA Youth Sports leagues are different from competitive club leagues in that everyone receives equal practice and play time. We’ve also modified each sport to make it safer and more enjoyable to play. Through our sports programs, we grow all participants regardless of ability, gender, race, or religious creed. We encouraging parents and coaches to support our kids with positive reinforcement and believe competition is a positive process when the pursuit of victory is kept in the right perspective.
Our League
YMCA youth sports register players whether you are a YMCA member or not and play among other YMCA branches. Our leagues are divided into age-ranges or grade (3-14yo) and are both co-ed and gender specific. Registration is on-line (first-come) and you select the practice day (Team) convenient to your schedule. Our leagues are officiated with experienced YMCA staff. Our coaches are volunteers and given tools to make their efforts pay off. Flag Football, Soccer and Girls Volleyball are offered in the Spring and Fall. Baseball is a summer sport and basketball is offered in the winter months.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAMS FEES
All our Sports leagues include: Registration onto a roster, (10) practice weeks and (8) concurrent game weeks, full uniforms and player achievement medallions.
COACHES WANTED
The success of our youth sports programs depends on volunteer coaches and keeping them informed. Our branch now offers a comprehensive sports orientation and training/clinic course for each of our (5) core sports. All coaches need to fill out and submit our Request To Coach Form and we highly recommend enrolling in our free Sports E-learning Course.
