Ready to Get Healthy?

The Y Active Weight Loss program is your common sense track to a healthier lifestyle. We currently have programs at three YMCA branches and two more starting soon, with lunchtime and evening classes to fit your schedule throughout the week. At the Greystone Family branch, we meet on Tuesdays at 9:45am and on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm. At the Trussville Family branch there are two classes on Wednesdays, one at noon and another  at 5:45pm. The Hoover Family branch meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:00. Classes begin on February 29 at 11:30 at the Downtown branch, and on Monday, March 5th at 5:00pm at the Vestavia Express branch.

 We meet once a week, every week, and the nutritional topics covered each week will be the same at each branch every week, in case you find yourself in a different part of town one day. You can join anytime, as the topics are non-sequential. Payment is conveniently drafted through your checking account or credit card. For existing Y members, the cost of the program for each month is an additional $45 per month, but if you are not quite ready to join the Y, that’s fine, too. We welcome non-Y members, as well. The cost for a non-member is $100 per month, but that does include free access for you to all Y branches in Birmingham, for as long as you are enrolled in the program.

 The program includes good, common sense nutritional information that’s easy to follow and fit into your day, physical activity and diet journaling, group meetings with people with similar goals as you, and group personal training. Don't wait....your road to a healthier you starts TODAY!!
